Szolyd Development

Ultra high performance concrete news.

Szolyd has finished our part of the Little Spirits Garden Installation. This elaborate garden is located at one of the highest points of land in the Royal Oak Burial Park. Designed by Bill Pechett and Joe Daly, this beautiful site serves as a space for families to grieve pregnancy and infant loss.

The nucleus of the design is the ductal commemorative house, one is given to each grieving family. It has a negative receiver that registers to one of the positive keys on the stepped base units.

Szolyd cast 120 stepped base units and 300 commemorative houses, there is space for a total of 3000 houses in the gardens.

The centrepiece of the design is the ceremonial table, this beautiful monolithic precast piece is used for ash internment and is the focal point of the Little Spirits Garden.

This garden is the first of its kind in the world, the stunning architectural lines, and cohesive design  language allow for seamless integration within the old growth of the cemetery.
