Concrete tree grates for Spirit Trail | North Vancouver
Ductal concrete tree grates don’t rust, need powder coating, are freeze thaw proof, and can be perforated for aesthetic qualities.
Szolyd has recently supplied Blue Pine Enterprises with these stunning ductal tree grates for the Spirit Trial in North Vancouver. Specified by Space2Place architecture, ultra high performance concrete is natural fit for landscape features and urban furniture. UHPC is chloride resistant and out performs traditional concrete, standing up to Canadian winters for many more years. The ductal tree grates for the Spirit Trail were cast in the light grey base and given a sandblast finish. The concrete tree grates were cast at half the thickness of traditional concrete, allowing for an easier install, with less machinery.
Located along the waterfront of North Vancouver, the Spirit Trail aims to integrate a series of isolated public spaces in an effort to forge social, cultural and ecological connections between communities and their surroundings. When complete, the Spirit Trail will consist of a 35 km greenway that stretches from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Deep Cove in the District of North Vancouver. This long-term phased effort involves the partnership of the City of North Vancouver, the District of North Vancouver, the District of West Vancouver, and the Squamish and Tsleil Waututh First Nations.
